This robust configuration allowed it to traverse thick mud and deep sand while carrying three soldiers, frequently towing a single-axle If 8 infantry trailer to haul ammunition, fuel, and supplies. Production of the BMW R75 ran from 1941 to 1944, with over 16,500 units manufactured and extensively fielded until the war's end.
